Adult Parish Choir

Choir Director - Kevin Wood

7 p.m. Wednesdays - Large Church (September - June)

Increasingly, there are more and more ways to participate in the musical life of our parish.  The Adult Parish Choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings.  Not only does this volunteer group lead a Mass each week but they offer special music throughout the year as well.  It's also a great social network within the community.

Children's Choir

This Choir rehearses on Monday evenings as part of the Religious Education scheduling.  The children provide special music on Christmas and Easter as well as for monthly Family Masses.

FilAm Choir

Choir Director - Karen Wilberg

The FilAm Choir (Filippino-American) rehearses on Monday evenings from 7-8pm and the last Sunday of the month at 10am before the mass that they lead.  All are welcome to join in their music-making as well as their love of great food!

Resurrection Choir

This non-rehearsed choir provides musical support at funerals.  Members of the choir attend funerals as their schedules permit to aid in singing hymns, psalms and other responses.

Handbell Choir - A fun way to engage in the musical life of our parish!

Co-directors: Sean Bieschke, Megan Bieschke and Sharon Smith
Participation in our intergenerational handbell ensembles is another way to get involved in the musical life at St. Martha Parish. Currently there are three different ensembles. Join one, two or all three!  Like our other music ensembles, no previous experience is required....just a love of music and a willingness to work at learning a new skill.
For further information on getting involved in the musical life of our parish, please contact our Parish Music Director, Kevin Wood. E-mail works best: stmarthachurch@yahoo.

SPRED

A special Religious Education Program for adults ages 22 and over with developmental and/or cognitive disabilities

The goal of SPRED is to help our special friends with disabilities to develop an awareness of GOD in their lives, an awareness of themselves as persons of dignity who are loved by GOD and an awareness of themselves as an integral part of the Parish community and the entire Church.  This is accomplished through meaningful one-on-one partnerships within a small Community of Faith.  The SPRED components include a peaceful setting, bonds of friendship with our team, respectful attitudes, sharing of life experiences, the proclamation of the Word and the sharing of Sacramental celebrations to help each person discover the gifts and the needs of every person in the Community of Faith.  Our team members gain as much benefit from the sessions as do the special friends.

Our Community Sessions are held one Saturday morning per month, generally, and our catechist team additionally meets one weeknight per month for a Preparation Session.  Sessions average two and a half hours each.  To find out more about our Program, to introduce a new special friend to SPRED, to volunteer, to donate or to obtain a Calendar of sessions, call (847) 663-0129 (to reach Terry or Gerry Gangloff, leader catechists).   Mail should be directed to: St. Martha SPRED Program, 8523 Georgiana Ave., Morton Grove, IL 60053
